Our freeze dryer is a dehydration machine that preserves perishable materials by removing moisture through sublimation. This process involves freezing the material and then reducing the pressure to allow the frozen water to change directly from a solid to a gas , without passing through the liquid phase. This gentle process preserves the product's structure, flavor, color, and nutritional value better than traditional drying methods that use high heat. 

Key components:

  1. Drying Chamber: Where the product (in trays or flasks) is placed for the process.

  2. Refrigeration System: Cools the product initially and maintains the low temperature in the condenser.

  3. Condenser (Cold Trap): A surface maintained at a very low temperature (e.g., around -50°C to -60°C) to capture and solidify the sublimated water vapor, protecting the vacuum pump.

  4. Vacuum System: Includes a high-quality vacuum pump to lower and maintain pressure in the chamber, enabling sublimation.

  5. Heating System: Controlled heaters (e.g., via heated shelves or ambient heat) provide the necessary energy for the sublimation process.

  6. Control System: Automates and monitors the temperature and pressure throughout the cycle via touch screens and sensors, ensuring optimal drying conditions.
