Chemistry is one of the fundamental natural sciences that studies matter, its interactions, and its changes. Not only in consumer goods (preservatives, dyes), healthcare (medicines, medical analysis), hygiene (soaps, stabilizers), energy (fuel, additives), industry (metals, plastics, paints, textiles), and the environment (waste treatment, recycling), but also in optimizing chemical processes, finding the suitable materials or equipment for specific applications, and utilizing alternative energy sources, making chemistry extremely important in daily life and industrial processes.

The role of chemistry has been increasingly developing in recent decades, especially in Indonesia. Research institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and universities conducting fundamental, exploratory, descriptive, and applied research, as well as Research and Development (R&D) departments in companies, to find right solutions for their customer requirements, product development, and portfolio diversification.
