Our platinum crucible is made of pure platinum and is used for high-temperature chemical reactions, metal melting, and sample preparation.

Common Uses:

  1. XRF Fusion: Preparing samples for X-Ray Fluorescence by melting them with a borate flux to create a "glass bead" XRF Scientific.

  2. Ashing: Burning off organic matter at high heat to analyze the remaining mineral content.

  3. Chemical Analysis: Dissolving minerals or glass using hydrofluoric acid (HF), which would destroy glass or porcelain containers.
